The first throw should be made from anywhere inside the large patch of dead grass just on the other side of the tollbooth near the main entrance to the park (see course overview for details). Note the target can be found in the grove of trees as indicated above.
The par course sign is the target. Hitting any part of the sign, including the posts on the bottom, will count.
Course Update: The new par course has an obstacle in the same place, with three yellow and purple objects that should be visible from the starting point. Aim for the object furthest to the left.
